Continental Apple Cake
♥ 250g butter, melted ♥ 1 1/4 cups sugar ♥ 3 teaspoons baking powder ♥ 3 1/4 cups flour ♥ 4 eggs
♥ 2 tablespoons cinnamon ♥ 2-3 large apples, sliced ♥ 2 more tablespoonsfull of sugar ♥ 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
♥ 2 tablespoons cinnamon ♥ 2-3 large apples, sliced ♥ 2 more tablespoonsfull of sugar ♥ 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
Put butter, first measure of sugar, flour, baking powder and eggs into a bowl. Beat with an electric mixer on high speed until smooth. In a seperate bowl combine apple slices, second measure of sugar (2 tablespoons), cinnamon and vanilla essence. I also put some syrup on the top.
Spoon half the egg mixture into a greased round cake tin. Arrange half the apple mixture on top. Spoon remaining egg mixture over apple mixture. Top with remaining apples, pushing the apples lightly into the mixture.
Bake at 180°C for 60 minutes.
Eat it warm and fresh out of the oven. If desired add some cream or vanilla ice cream. It's just lovely and so easy to make. I can't resist this cake when I dip it in maple syrup.

ich lese schon eine ganze Weile bei dir mit und wollte mich einfach mal zu Wort melden.
Ich war selbst ein Jahr Aupair in NZ, in Auckland und ich kenne das so gut: Am Anfang bis zur Mitte meines Aufenthalts habe ich alles total genossen und letztendlich fiel mir der Abschied richtig, richtig schwer, aber ich habe ihm in den letzten 2, 3 Monaten auch herbeigesehnt.
Ich denke, wenn du wieder in Deutschland bist, wirst du das neuseeländische Leben sehr vermissen, auch wenn du dem gerade überdrüssig geworden bist.
Ich wünsche dir alles, alles Gute und vor allem eine schöne Reise mit deinem Bruder :-)

schön mal das von einem ehemaligen NZ-Au Pair zu hören, die meine Gefühle versteht und auch empfunden hat. Und ja ich denke auch, dass ich daheim das Kiwi Leben vermissen werde, wenn man dann da wieder alles hat, was man so in der Zeit vermisst hat. Aber wir können sehr froh sein, dass wir diese einzigartige Chance hatten, für so eine lange Zeit in einem fremden Land zu leben.
